Vashon Island Cemetery Commission

I don't know anything about it, but I see there is an open position. If there is nobody who's taken it on next Friday I think you may be reading a post from the next cemetery commissioner. This is the sort of crap I think to do when I've got time on my hands from not writing.

Break

Sorry ladies and gents, but I'll be taking it slow writing for the next few weeks. When my EMT class ends, I'll probably kick things back up a bit. Brenda may post some, and if I see something that strikes my fancy, and I have the time, sure I'll throw it down here.

Our Gov Beats Your Gov

Properly elected Governor Christine Gregoire is more popular than Californy's Governator.

And Mike McGavick is a Shameless Corporate Shill.

Mike McGavick is Tom Delay's Whore

You heard it here first. Pass it on.

And where did they find a guy with a voice two octaves higher than Maria Cantwell's voice? She has a good reason - she's a girl. Maybe McGavick is a girl, too. And when McGavick gets out on the campaign trail, his voice will drive all of the neighborhood dogs crazy and his aides will start hitting on the helium tank so he won't sound so strange.

Drinking Liberally

I'll be coming out tonight. I don't know if I'll be leaving early or catching the late boat. Either way come for the booze, stay for the 1 billion:1 M:F ratio.

Outing

I get to mention my favorite column! From The Ethicist in the Times Magazine.

I have always believed that an elected official's private life is not a part of the public record. Before and after the Mayor Jim West episode, I have heard colleagues discuss outing legislators who oppose gay rights but are rumored to be gay. What are the ethics in this case? State Senator Ken Jacobsen, Seattle

Cohen gives a good answer. But there is something I'd like to add. I've mentioned it before, but it's been a while. There are people shopping the story around. Even before West, I got people trying to sell me on someone else. For a variety of reasons, including they aren't as anti-gay as West, and I think the gay rights stuff is good enough to stand on its own, I didn't peruse it. But given the fact that most people in the local blogtopia (y!sctp!) went a bit more nuts with the West story and the Roach story than me it's only a matter of time. Any expectation of staying in the closet is a joke.

Har

Silly silly Jim West.
